The Minecraft holiday workshop is set out to develop the students understanding and fluency in mathematics through the creative and building aspects of Minecraft which enable players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world. Students learn to inquiry, exploring and connecting mathematical concepts, choosing and applying problem-solving skills, mathematical techniques, communication and reasoning. This course is for students taking their first steps with game design and development for primary kids.

Guided by experts, Devika learning experiences are engaging, interactive and 100% hands-on, using playful cleverness to achieve a goal.

Workshop BYO Requirements

  1. Food: we will be having breaks during the workshop for recess and lunch, but a packed lunch is needed.
  2. Laptop (minimum): i5 (or i3) Intel Processor, 4GB (or 2GB) RAM, and either Windows 7 or OSX (or later).
  3. You need a Minecraft account, they are $35 to register, or for $10 you can use of our accounts for the day. Click here to register
  4. It is recommended to have Minecraft Installed prior to the workshop. Install and setup of Minecraft can be done free, an hour before class or for those of you proactive; we have provided links below for you to be able to download them now and not have to stress before the workshop.
